50 Slots for the IRONMAN World Championship 2015
KMD IRONMAN Copenhagen is an official qualifier for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, October 2015. Our event will be awarding 50 qualifying slots for the Kona event. Refer to the slot allocation table below to determine the number of slots awarded in each race category (preliminary allocation, will be updated on race day):
At least one slot shall be allocated to each five-year age group category in which any age group athlete sends in an application, both male and female, per the age group categories listed above. If there are no athletes entered in the race in a particular age group, then that slot will be moved to the largest populated age group in that same gender. For additional age group slots, slot allocation shall be representative of the actual number of age grouper applicants in each category in the race. As an example, if 8% of the age-group applicants are females 40-44, then 8% of these slots would be allocated in the female 40-44 category.*
SLOT ALLOCATION POLICY
Regulation from World Triathlon Cooperation (WTC): Starting in 2009, the Ironman World Championship and all qualifying events will implement both the International Triathlon Federation and USA Triathlon´s Age Group Competition rule, which states that “All age group athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s age on December 31 of the year of the event.”
*Final slot allocation will be posted on the event website and at the race site the day before the race. The number of slots per category might be slightly changed later on based on the exact number of applications per category.
The entry fee for Hawaii 2015 is USD 850 (plus 6 % Active fee) and has to be paid during the Slot allocation in Copenhagen on August 24 2015, by credit card only. No checks are accepted. Please show valid picture ID.
